Music Education (B.A.) – Elementary Music Pedagogy (EMP)

Bachelor of Arts

Features of the degree program Music Education – Elementary Music Pedagogy

The EMP program is diverse and creative. It appeals to artistic, multimedially inclined people interested in music education.

Music teachers with a degree in EMP have very good chances in today's job market because they are qualified for teaching their complementary subject (an instrument or singing) and for employment in the broad field of Elementary Music Practice.

Current political developments have raised the demand for well-trained elementary educators who can engage German children and adults with music.

The EMP in Osnabrück has a multi-generational approach, so students can pursue a multifaceted course of studies with varying target groups, thus preparing them extensively for later professional practice. Courses offered with children under four, with seniors, and with persons with disabilities reinforce the topicality of the pedagogical approach, representing a reaction both to current educational policy and to demographic change.
