Study Preparation STUDYPREP OS for Prospective International Students
STUDYPREP OS - A step towards studying in Osnabrück
Since 2016, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences has been offering STUDYPREP OS for internationals who wish to study in Germany. The program prepares them for their academic studies in Osnabrück and is sponsored by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture (Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur/MWK).
Our courses
STUDYPREP courses are expected to be discontinued in September 2026. If you have a B2 level of German proficiency and are interested in studying the field of technology:
You can apply to our new degree programs in Engineering (B.Sc.) and Computer Science (B.Sc.) with a German language proficiency level of B2. In addition to covering mathematical fundamentals and other skills, these programs include intensive German courses during the first two semesters.

FAQs
A new course STUDYPREP C1 will run from September 2025 until July 2026.
The language course C1 (18 hours/week) takes place: four mornings a week 10:00 - 13:30. The free morning will be announced at the start of the course. There are additional events (tutorial, seminars/lectures) that may take place in the afternoon. So participants must be flexible in their schedules.
You will be prepared for the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam. The exam itself is not part of the program, but can be taken after the course.
Yes. STUDYPREP OS is a study preparation program. Participants are required to take part in all modules. Participants who are frequently absent are not eligible to participate in STUDYPREP OS. The detailed attendance regulations will be discussed at the beginning of the program.
No. Participation in STUDYPREP OS is open to all prospective international students.
Participation in the program STUDYPREP OS is free of charge.
The costs for textbooks, travel expenses and examination fees have to be paid by the participants.
You can apply for the new intensive course STUDYPREP C1 from WS 25/26 until August 15, 2025. You will find the application form here.
