Computer Science (B.Sc.)

Program structure

Structure of the program

The standard period of study of the modularly-structured Bachelor's program in Computer Science is eight semesters.

You can earn 30 credits per semester. Upon completion of the program, you will have earned 240 credit points and will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree.

The program begins with a two-semester introductory phase during which you will become familiar with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. These two semesters provide an opportunity to explore the field of computer science and develop essential skills, methods, and tools for successful study.

By the end of the second semester, you will choose one of the following fields of study:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Media Applications
  • Business Information Systems

In your chosen field, you will lay the mathematical and scientific foundations and complete modules that teach the basics of computer science.

Building on this foundation, higher-level semesters will cover classic core computer science subjects and modules for subject-specific specialization in your chosen profile.

The fifth semester can be used as a "mobility semester." As an alternative to the regular program, you can study abroad.

In the final semester, you will complete a scientific practice project and your Bachelor's thesis.
