Study Agriculture, Food or Landscape Architecture in Germany
Here's what you can do with us in English in the fields of agriculture, food or landscape architecture:
- Semester Course Packages
We offer semester packages in a wide range of subject areas. Each package consists of a set of fixed courses that combine lectures, seminars, project work, and a language or intercultural communication module.
With some packages, you can choose from a selection of courses according to your specialization. - Individual Semester Program
You can design your own semester program by selecting from a range of English-language modules. This also enables you to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis under the supervision of one of our professors. - Summer and Winter Programs
We offer various 2- to 6-week summer programs between May and August with courses that might interest you. For winter people, we also have our 3-week winter language course in February. - Internship
If you prefer hands-on experience, we offer the opportunity to complete an internship lasting several months in one of our laboratories or research groups.
Our offers apply to Bachelor's and Master's students. If you are a doctoral student, take a look at the website of our Welcome Center for international doctoral candidates and researchers.

Individual Semester Program
You have the opportunity to put together your own topics and lectures.
How does that work?
- Look through our course catalog to find subjects that interest you.
- Send a list of the modules you are interested in, along with your request, to the International Faculty Office (IFO) responsible for the program.
- The IFO will contact you and together you will determine your individual study plan.
Summer and Winter Programs
Our three-week International Summer University (ISU) offers you for example the following courses:
- Ethics and Sustainability of Artificial Intelligence (undergraduate)
- Sustainable Succes in the Global Marketplace (undergraduate/graduate)
- Introduction to Health Psychology (undergraduate)
- Global Healthcare Management (undergraduate/graduate)
- Clinical Perspectives in Physiotherapy (undergraduate)
- Food Technologies (undergraduate/graduate)
In addition to the courses, we offer e.g:
- a workshop on “Intercultural Competence”
- company visits in the region
- cultural activities such as sports activities or workshops in the Botanical Garden
- weekend trip to Berlin
- optional trips to Paris and Amsterdam
During the six-week International Study Program on "Sustainability and Innovation in Engineering and Environmental Planning," you will take two courses:
- Special Topics in Engineering and Environmental Planning
- Workshop 'Methods of Innovation'
You will combine these courses with the cultural module, "Living Society," which includes various study trips and cultural and social events.
Prior to the semester we offer Intensive German Courses:
- 4 weeks in August/September: International Summer Language Course
- 3 weeks in February: International Winter Language Course
You will learn German according to your language level (from beginners to advanced), meet international students from all over the world, get to know the university and the city and will be well prepared to start into your semester as a visiting student.
Internship
We offer you the opportunity to do a three-month internship with us, e.g:
- in one of our laboratories
- in one of our research groups
