Winter semester: July 15 (different deadlines for applicants with foreign university entry qualifications, for details please refer to application deadlines with uni-assist); applications for practical positions at cooperating responsible practical institutions start around December of the previous year to around May of the application year.

Admission requirements

University entrance qualification, contract for academic midwifery training at a cooperating responsible practice facility, proof of health aptitude, proof of reliability / worthiness, pre-study internship in an obstetric field of four weeks duration (in contrast to this, in the application process for the winter semester 2021/22, Corona-related, a reduction of the pre-study internship to a duration of two weeks is possible)

Areas of concentration

Basics and in-depth knowledge of physiological processes and specific care needs in the life phase of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and early parental leave; Women's and children's health, health literacy, transition processes and diseases in the reproductive phase of life; Midwifery-led, family-oriented and interdisciplinary design of care and supply processes; Scientific fundamentals, fundamentals of midwifery research; Evidence-based care, communication and counseling; reference science basics; professional identity formation and ethical reflections in the areas of tension in health care
