- Kurzbeschreibung
High quality products are necessary for the marketability of products. Metrology is the information acquisition for the Quality assurance. To assure a high quality production it is necessary to measure the input quality of the materials, to monitor the whole production process and to measure or check the output quality of the products. Therefore, to produce high quality products, knowledge about metrology, measurement and instrumentation is necessary.
- Lehr-Lerninhalte
1. basic knowledge about metrology
2. static and dynamic characteristics of measurement devices
3. errors and uncertainties, random and systematic errors, computer aided separation of random and systematic errors
4. statistical description of errors, error propagation, evaluation and presentation of series of measurements
5. computer aided calibration, optimisation of calibration with the aim to reduce the number of standards
6. Selected examples from the fields: mechanical and geometrical quantities, temperature, flow rate, filling level, density, humidity, analysis technologies e.g.

Basics of Metrology, Measurement and Instrumentation. Fundamentals of mathematics and physics. Basics of any kind of engineering education from BSc-level.
- Wissensverbreiterung
The students should be able to use the knowledge about metrology, measurement and Instrumentation to assure the production of high quality products or materials.
- Wissensvertiefung
the students should be able to investigate calibration procedures on bais of the deep theoretical understandig of the process to improve the effectivety of the calibration process and to save standards
- Wissensverständnis
The students get knowledge about the fundamental basics of measurement and instrumentation, sensor technologies for the measurement of non electrical quantities, the evaluation of measurement result in the connection to the determination of the quality of products and processes.
- Nutzung und Transfer
After the course, the students should be able to use the knowledge in departements of quality insurance, production and design of technical equipment.
- Wissenschaftliche Innovation
The students get the brand new knowledge about the connection between measurement and quality determination as well as the newest knowledge about sensortechnology to measure non electrical quantities.
- Kommunikation und Kooperation
because the course is guidedet to international students and german students for preparation for the international market for engineers, the communication and cooperation in an international environment ist part of the education.
