Kurzbeschreibung

Responsive Virtual Spaces or Landscapes deal with the idea that landscapes and environmental structures can react flexibly to changes in their surroundings or to interactions. The module conveys the theoretical and conceptual foundations and also deals with the concrete operationalization using a case study.

Lehr-Lerninhalte

Introduction to the concept of responsive landscapes, including historical development, theoretical foundations and highly topical discourses in the field of landscape architecture and digital design.

In-depth exploration of the technologies behind responsive and virtual landscapes, including sensor technology, data analysis, 3D modeling, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

Approaches to designing and planning landscapes that can respond to changes in their environment or to user interactions. This includes topics such as adaptive landscape elements, interactive ecosystems and the use of simulations in planning.

The role of responsive landscapes in promoting sustainability and adapting to climate change. This includes the integration of natural processes and cycles into design strategies.

Analysis and discussion of real projects and case studies that demonstrate responsive approaches to landscape design.

Gesamtarbeitsaufwand

Der Arbeitsaufwand für das Modul umfasst insgesamt 150 Stunden (siehe auch "ECTS-Leistungspunkte und Benotung").

Empfohlene Vorkenntnisse

Previous knowledge of CAD, BIM, especially Rhino, Grasshopper, etc.

Wissensverbreiterung

Students are enabled to reflect on the technical context and to use and combine specific IT applications in a targeted manner.

Wissensvertiefung

Students learn to use familiar software for extended application purposes. In addition to the familiar design methods, this includes the use of scenarios, sensor technology and the resulting developments and changes within the virtual landscapes.

Wissensverständnis

Students understand how to identify the planning-relevant parameters of virtual landscapes, implement them in models and use them to support decision-making.

Nutzung und Transfer

Students are able to communicate the basic ideas of modeling and its results to those involved in the planning and development process and to incorporate the model results into implementation processes.

Wissenschaftliche Innovation

The implementation of responsive landscapes using existing modular software is one of the current fields of research in applied geoinformatics and transformation sciences. Dealing with this enables students to apply these current developments themselves and to contribute to their further development.

Kommunikation und Kooperation

Students are able to communicate the basic ideas of modeling and its results to those involved in the planning and development process and to incorporate the model results into implementation processes.
