Kurzbeschreibung

The module provides students with a complete implementation of an exhibition project in China. Students will understand the responsibilities of a project manager and the specific tasks to organize and implement a successful trade fair. The module facilitates easy access to the Chinese exhibition market for students.

Lehr-Lerninhalte

The module covers key points and know-how of exhibition management, such as the topics initiation, feasibility studies, agenda setup, marketing, exhibitor acquisition, customer services, supplier management, on-site services, post-show work, etc.

Bemerkung zur Prüfungsart

The portfolio examination consists of:

PFP1: a presentation (30%) and a two-hour exam (70%)
PFP2: a written project report (30%) and a two-hour exam (70%)
PFP3: a written project report (30%) and a written paper (70%)

Prüfungsdauer und Prüfungsumfang

Written examination: in accordance with the valid study regulations

Written paper: approx. 10-15 pages

Written project report: approx. 15-20 pages

Presentation: approx. 10-15 minutes

Wissensverbreiterung

Students who successfully complete this module will have a general understanding of how to organise an exhibition in China.

Wissensvertiefung

Students gain exhibition-related knowledge such as sales calls, visitor/exhibitor management, price negotiation, floor plan making, marketing etc. 

Wissensverständnis

Students obtain hands-on experiences on how to conduct market surveys and research-oriented reports to successfully organize and evaluate trade shows and exhibitions.

Nutzung und Transfer

Students are able to collect, evaluate and interpret relevant information, deduct scientifically founded results, develop solutions and implement respective solutions according to the latest academic findings, implement application-oriented projects and contribute to finding solutions for complex tasks as a member of a team and develop further learning processes independently. Students are required to activate their existing knowledge based on solving application-oriented problems.

Students are able to derive and define research questions, explain and justify the operationalisation of research, apply research methods as well as explain and summarise research results. 

Kommunikation und Kooperation

Students who successfully complete the module gain particular skills related to stakeholder cooperation and management as well as teambuilding and communication skills.

Wissenschaftliches Selbstverständnis / Professionalität

Students are able to develop their own professional self-image, justify their own professional actions with theoretical and methodical knowledge, assess their own skills, reflect autonomous, factual creative freedom and decision-making independence and use these under guidance. Students should recognise the general framework of acting professionally and justifying their decisions ethically responsibly. Students should reflect their professional actions critically regarding societal expectations and consequences.
