Building on the module "Fundamentals of Research Methods in Physiotherapy Science", this module expands and deepens knowledge and skills regarding research methods in physiotherapy science. Here, the focus is on the physiotherapy-specific measurement instruments and assessments and the data analysis of corresponding outcome measurements, taking into account the appropriate study design.

For the types of examinations permitted in the module, the following information on the scope or duration applies in each case.
- The examination performance consists of an answer-choice-procedure and a written project report. Both parts will be graded with 50% each.

The selection of the graded and ungraded examination types from the given options is the responsibility of the respective teacher. This is done in accordance with the valid study regulations.

The module assumes a basic knowledge of physiotherapy-specific research methodology as taught in the module "Fundamentals of Research Methods in Physiotherapy Science".

Students will demonstrate advanced knowledge and competency regarding physical therapy specific research methodology.

Students will justify the purposeful use of research methods to evaluate research questions specific to physical therapy.

The students use methods sensibly to collect and evaluate outcomes relevant to physiotherapy in research. In doing so, they use relevant software such as EXCEL or SPSS.

Students will be able to describe and justify their approach to using the acquired skills in research methodology.
- Wissenschaftliches Selbstverständnis / Professionalität
Advanced knowledge and competencies in physiotherapy-specific research methodology are a prerequisite for independently conducting studies that scientifically evaluate the quality of clinical practice in physiotherapy.
