Summer and Winter Programs
We offer a range of 2- to 6-week summer programs from May to August that feature courses tailored to your interests. Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences also offers a 3-week winter or summer German language course.
The summer or winter programs are modules that are offered as block courses. They usually take place outside of the regular lecture period.

Additional Information
ECTS - Credit Points
At Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, we use the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) for our modules. ECTS credit points represent the total student workload, including attendance in classes as well as preparation and follow-up work, group work, assessments, internships, and other forms of coursework.
A total of 30 ECTS credit points corresponds to the standard workload for one semester
| 1 ECTS equals | 30 hours |
| 5 ECTS equals | 150 hours |
The majority of our modules carry 5 ECTS credits.
Academic year
An academic year is divided into one winter semester (September to February) and one summer semester (March to August).
Lecture period: approximately 14–15 weeks per semester
Examination period: three weeks at the end of each semester

Every student submits a Learning Agreement before the exchange semester. This Learning Agreement is signed by the student, their home university and a staff member of the International Faculty Office at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture.
Note for Erasmus+ students:
Your home university informs you about the Digital Learning Agreement (DLA). As there are two universities in Osnabrück, make sure you choose the right one. We use the following code: D OSNABRU02 - Hochschule (or Fachhochschule) Osnabrück
At the end of the semester the Students Registrar´s Office will send your transcript of records with all your modules and grades to you and your responsible person at your home University.
The ToR are send by the Students Registrar Office as following:
- in the summer term usually at the start of September
- in the winter term usually at the star to March
German language modules from CIM or CIS are automatically transmitted to the Students Registrar´s Office and included in your ToR.
