University Steering Committee of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences
Tasks of the University Steering Committee in accordance with the Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz [Lower Saxony University Regulation] (NHG):
The Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is managed by a University Steering Committee.
It designs the development of the university, prepares the decisions of the Academic Senate via the development plan and ensures that the university achieves its aims. The University Steering Committee is responsible for all affairs that are not assigned to another organ by the NHG. As an organ of the Stiftung ‘Fachhochschule Osnabrück’, the University Steering Committee conducts the Foundation's daily business, prepares the decisions of the Foundation Board and executes them. The University Steering Committee maintains the order in the university and exercises domiciliary rights. It is responsible for the legal supervision of the organs of the university and the student body. The President represents the university to outside, chairs the Board and sets the policies for the University Steering Committee.
Since the founding of the Stiftung ‘Fachhochschule Osnabrück’ as a sponsor of the university, it is proven practice that the deans of the faculties also take on the position as a part-time Vice Presidents at the same time.

Contact President’s Office
The President's Office coordinates the meetings of the central university organs of the University Steering Committee, the Academic Senate and the Foundation Board and prepares the decisions. It is the first point of contact for interdepartmental issues, information and key processes of the university development. All appointments of the President and the Senior Vice President, as well as their involvement in the external boards and committees are prepared and followed up in the President's Office. In addition, central projects of the university development are processed.
