Securing research strengths in the research fields
– ensures continuity and the transfer of knowledge by filling professor positions in advance that will become vacant due to the upcoming generational transition.
As one of three subprojects of TExAS focused on research, this subproject supports the strategic goal of strengthening research, by enhancing the research capabilities of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in the three existing research fields:
- Agriculture and Food Systems, Landscape and Urban Development
– climate-resilient, interconnected, digital - Health, Society, Economy
– shaping transformations for the future - Sustainable Technologies and Processes
– value-adding, resource-efficient, forward-oriented
Nearly two-thirds of the professors with a strong research focus at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences are over 55 years old. This impending generational shift offers an opportunity to strategically realign excellence in research.
Early appointments and new professorships ensure knowledge transfer, establish continuity, and enable the development of new research profiles. In this way, the university remains innovative and future-proof in the long term.
