Deutschlandstipendium

The Deutschlandstipendium is 300 euros per month, and is awarded for an initial term of one year.  The scholarships are awarded annually in the winter semester, so that the funding year starts on September 1st.

It is not offset against BAföG benefits or the student's own earnings.

Applicants to study at and students at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences can apply if they are enrolled on September 1st of the year of the award. The selection criteria for awarding the scholarships include previous performance and past career and educational development, as well as social engagement and special social, family or personal circumstances, for instance based on a recipient’s family origin or migration background.

The next application period for the Deutschlandstipendium will take place from April 29 to May 20 (5 p.m.). Applications are submitted online via an application portal.

In addition to the application form in the online portal, it is mandatory to submit a CV, a transcript of records/certificate and a certificate of enrollment. In addition, evidence of e.g. voluntary work can be uploaded. An anonymous version of the CV and transcript of records must also be submitted.

Students who already receive aptitude and performance-dependent funding equal to or exceeding a monthly average of 30 euros cannot receive funding through the Deutschlandstipendium. Students in dual study programs, part-time professional and integrated professional degree programs, as well as students in continuing education programs are also not eligible to receive funding.

There is no legal claim to a scholarship.

Please enter the average grade from your university entrance qualification.

3. additionally for students in their first semester (summer semester) of a bachelor’s program, the average grade from the university entrance qualification

4. for applicants to study in a bachelor’s degree program, the average grade from the university entrance qualification…”

The selection process takes some time. Notifications are usually sent by email at the end of August.

Make sure you have reliable access to your emails until the acceptance and rejection notifications are announced. We will send important messages during the application review and selection process. Please note: To access your university mailbox from outside the EU, you will need a VPN connection.

"Funding is not available to students who already receive other aptitude and performance-based material support from an institution in accordance with Sec. 1 para. 3 or Sec. 4 para. 1 of the StipG (Law creating a national scholarship program) with monthly funding of € 30 or more.”

According to StipG Sec. 1 (2), funding is also not available for students who already receive candidate compensation or similar benefits from public funds (benefits from public funds which student assistants or marginally employed persons receive are excepted from this).
