Securing research strengths
in the research fields
Securing research strengths in the research fields
– ensures continuity and the transfer of knowledge by filling professor positions in advance that will become vacant due to the upcoming generational transition.
As one of three subprojects, this subproject supports the strategic goal of strengthening research within the overall TExAS project, by enhancing the research capabilities of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in the three existing research fields:
- Agriculture and Food Systems, Landscape and Urban Development
– climate-resilient, interconnected, digital - Health, Society, Economy
– shaping transformations for the future - Sustainable Technologies and Processes
– value-adding, resource-efficient, forward-oriented
Nearly two-thirds of the research-intensive professors at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences are over 55 years old. This impending generational shift offers an opportunity to strategically realign excellence in research.
Through early appointments and new professorships, knowledge transfer is ensured, continuity is established, and the development of new research profiles is enabled. In this way, the university remains innovative and future-ready in the long term.
