In the master’s degree program in Agricultural and Food Industry, you will develop scientific, technical, and personal leadership skills. Compulsory modules such as “Empirical Work” and “Planning and Decision-Making” in the first semester lay the foundation for the methodological and theoretical knowledge you will need for your specialization. The “Future Skills” module offers you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in areas such as systemic leadership and self-organization.

Elective modules such as “Corporate Sustainability Management” or “Advanced Food Biotechnology” enable you to reflect on operational and technological transformation processes.

Optional specializations during the program

The master’s degree program in Agricultural and Food Industry offers a wide range of elective modules. For orientation purposes, you have the option of choosing one of five optional specializations:

  • Food technology and biotechnology
  • Sustainable organizational communication and digital media
  • Production systems and process engineering
  • Product marketing and digital commerce
  • Business management, accounting, and controlling

Choose from five exciting specializations, each with six modules, to find the one that best suits your interests, and then select the elective modules that best fit your needs. For recognition of the specialization, four modules comprising 20 credit points must be completed in accordance with the requirements specified in the special section of the examination regulations.

Individual research, study, or practical specialization in the third semester

In the third semester, you can choose from four different options to deepen your skills in your preferred area with a scope of 30 credit points (CP):

Semester abroad: As part of a semester abroad, you can take master’s modules at an accredited university abroad that complement your degree program. Before beginning your studies abroad, you must specify the modules you have chosen in a learning agreement. The modules completed will be recognized as a package in the “Semester Abroad” module.

Start-up semester: You can launch a start-up project in collaboration with the university’s own Startup Lab Rise. You will develop your own business plan, take part in a pitch for your start-up idea, and attend topic-specific workshops.

Scientific Project: In the Scientific Project, you will conduct a scientific study or partial study under the supervision of researchers at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

Transfer project: The transfer project offers you the opportunity to carry out a practical project. You will work on a research project in a company or other organization to address practical issues outside the traditional academic context.
