Master of Arts (formerly Social Work: Local Organization of Social Participation)

Shaping change, enabling participation: Social work of the future

Do you want to help shape social transformation?

In our Master’s program "Social Work: Shaping Participation with a Future Focus" you will acquire robust skills in analysis, conceptualization, and design within the field of social work. Through practice-oriented research and interdisciplinary coursework, you will be specifically prepared for various specialist and leadership roles while sharpening your understanding of the profession's dynamic challenges. By combining foundational modules and transformative competencies with a research-based "living lab" developed in collaboration with practitioners, we lay the groundwork for innovative and future-proof social work.

The program centers on the core concept of participation: you will learn to critically reflect on social inequalities, institutional structures, and societal changes, and – building on this – develop impactful, sustainable solutions for diverse fields of practice.

In a complex and changing society, opportunities for participation are increasingly under pressure, giving rise to new social challenges. Social work professionals are needed to navigate these developments with expertise.

Analyze, anticipate, and shape the future of our society.
