Cult_Euro_1-Test for Intercultural Competences

The test Cult Euro 1 is the first empirically validated and standadized test for intercultural competence. It contains two independent modules: one for general intercultural competence and one for German culture-specific competence.

The module for general intercultural competence represents a highly innovative instrument for HR assessment and development especially in multinational teams or companies, in the public service in a multicultural society as well as in the interaction with international clients. It is furthermore used in the preparation and support of professional or study-related stays abroad. The module for German-specific intercultural competence supports especially people who have migrated to Germany or are currently planning this. It helps to better understand cultural peculiarities of the German culture and facilitates the integration on the labor market as well as in society.

The test can be processed on all digital terminal devices in approx. 20 minutes, contains 108 self-report items and 16 Situational Judgment Tests and is offered by the Competence Centre Global Competence. Based on the extensive validation as part of the research project 'Cult Euro 1 Validation of the Measurement and Assessment General and West European Culture-Specific Intercultural Competence', supported with the VIP+ Program of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the use of most modern methods the Test offers excellent validity and reliability. For clients the test offers an extensive assessment of Intercultural Competence, a detailed competence profile as well as explanations about the individual competence scores in relation to a comparison sample of 6000 people. The results form an excellent basis for evidence-based Human Resources decisions and represent a perfect addition for further training- and awareness-raising approaches, like for instance Coaching or Mentoring for professions with intercultural overlapping situations. For people who have migrated to Germany the module for German culture-specific competence offers furthermore a basis for the identification of strengths and potentials, the sensitization for cultural specifics and supports in this way explicitly the successful integration on the labor market and in society.

Short Version Cult-Euro-1-Short now available!

The Cult-Euro-1 Test is now also available in a short version which can be processed in 10 minutes only. The fast but nonetheless reliable instrument enables a quick assessment of intercultural competence is appropriate ideally for targeted HR decisions or research.
