Structure of the program

Education Master's degree. A subject area in combination with a general education subject must be studied. The standard period of study is 4 semesters.

At the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, the modules of the Ecotrophology professional subject area is taught including vocational didactics and the "Advanced Studies in Teaching Practice" are supervised.

The Master’s thesis can either be written in the professional subject area of Ecotrophology and its vocation didactics at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences or in the general education subjects and its vocational didactics or the Vocational and Business Education.

The general education subjects as well as the Vocational and Business Education is offered by the University of Osnabrück. The internship in the general education subjects is supervised in the Master’s degree program by the vocational didactics of the selected general education subject. The scope of the credit points for each study areas corresponds to the general structure of the Master’s degree program Teaching Degree for Vocational Schools at the University of Osnabrück for the Master’s degree program for the Teaching Degree for Vocational Schools.

In addition to in-depth subject-related, didactic and educational knowledge and skills, the "Advanced Studies in Teaching Practice" are, in particular, to be named as a curricular component for the qualification of professional teaching and later gainful employment. The "Advanced Studies in Teaching Practice" are prepared, accompanied and reflected through the vocational didactics of the vocational and business education. The "Advanced Studies in Teaching Practice" are completed by students in a time period of 5 weeks at a vocational school in the vocational subject area and the selected general education subjects.
