Anniversary celebration on September 11 and 12, 2026
20 years of the Master's program in Management in Nonprofit Organisations is a reason to celebrate!
What a fantastic conference journey we had on Friday, celebrating 20 years of our master program Management in Nonprofit Organizations Hochschule Osnabrück. Over 100 people came in person and more followed us online. Under the topic of Shrinking spaces - how resilient is the NPO sector we gathered inputs by Radikale Töchter Noëmi Sander and Wir sind der Osten Melanie Stein and discussed this deeper on our podium with Kathrin Loer, Oluwakamiye Olorunfemi and Umer Khayyam (Prof. Dr.). The workshops in the afternoon were very different and well perceived: PhD science slam with Dr. Syed Shah, Yasser Kosbar, PhD, Mayra Martin Espinosa, Marlene Eimterbäumer, Thea Marie Blume and Umer Khayyam (Prof. Dr.), followed by an Q&A session about the PhD journey, the workshops by Radikale Töchter and Wir sind der Osten and Ralf Garten. Following our open call we had four researchers with us who presented their scientific papers Sofia Khan, Dr. Rebecca Wagner, Kaushal Sapkota, PhD and Soumya Saxena.

Twenty years ago, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences welcomed its first students to the master's program in Management in Nonprofit Organizations! Since then, approximately 480 students have successfully completed the program, gaining new knowledge and experience, exchanging ideas, and making friends.
To mark the 20th anniversary, we would like to cordially invite you to come to Osnabrück on Friday/Saturday, September 11/12, 2026 (Caprivistraße 30a, Building CN and Caprivi Lounge, Building CK) and celebrate the anniversary with us!
We look forward to meeting and interacting with all graduates, current students, professors, staff, and, of course, all interested nonprofit organizations and citizens!

We are particularly pleased to co-host this symposium with the GROWTH project at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. The goals of GROWTH and ours complement each other perfectly here: Especially in times of shrinking spaces, scientific expertise should encourage nonprofit organizations in the region to consider sustainable innovations and discuss them with the scientific community.
DAAD + BMBF
Thanks to support from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research), Prof. Dr. Umer Khayyam is teaching as a long-term visiting professor at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He is an associate professor in the Department of Development Studies at NUST University in Islamabad, Pakistan. As part of the long-term lecturership funded by the DAAD, Prof. Dr. Umer Khayyam (Pakistan) will deliver his farewell lecture and help shape the content of the conference.
