Have a Good Start - Study Orientation for International Students
Do you already know our Signal group? Signal is an instant messenger, but in contrast to WhatsApp it is much more secure and preserves your privacy, because no data and address books are forwarded unencrypted. And we think that's great!
The Signal group is intended to enable all international students to get in touch, exchange information and make friends. Especially in the beginning of your studies this is super important.
We will also be active in this group to provide you with information relevant to your studies, to give you tips on events and to be available for questions, if necessary.
To become a member, please fill out the registration form and send it back to us. Hereby, you agree that we may add you to the group with your first and last name as well as your mobile number.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
Your Center for International Students
Welcome to Osnabrück! When living and studying in Osnabrück, you need to register your new address at the City of Osnabrück. Since it usually takes months to schedule an appointment, we are cooperating with the Foreigner’s Office to make the process quicker and easier for you. Especially, when extending your visa you must attend this appointment even when you have classes on that day! Please tell your professor in advance that you have an appointment to register with the Foreigner’s Registration Office.
Please note that this appointment will take some time. You may also have some waiting time. Unfortunately, there is no better way to solve this but we appreciate your understanding!
For those of you, who are EU and NON-EU international students and have not registered the new place of residence, please bring your documents to the appointment with the Foreigner’s Registration Office on March 9, 2023!
- You have questions or are you unsure whether your documents are complete, or you have questions?
Then please come as early at 8.00 a.m. to room AC 0009 on Thursday on March 9, 2023, so that there is enough time to go through everything and clear all questions .
- You have prepared your documents and are absolutely sure that you have everything in order and ready, then you can join the appointment on 9.30 am in room AC 0009.
The Foreigner’s Office will join us at 9.30 am on that day.
To ensure that you have all the necessary documents for registration, we offer a joint ZOOM appointment where you can ask any questions you may have about the documents.
Zoom-Meeting on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 15:30 - 16.30 pm.
Meeting-ID: 968 8825 7469
First of all, we would like to give you some information about the procedure. For a successful registration with the City of Osnabrück, you will need the following documents:

We will inform you on March 9, whether you have to attend the follow-up appointment or not!

Denia (she/her) works as a student assistant for the Center for International Students and offers you a helping hand during her consultation hours every Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in room AB 0002B! The good thing is that because she is an international student herself, she can perfectly understand your concerns and perspectives. And because she has been studying at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences for a long time, she can give you valuable tips and assistance. If you would like to make an appointment with Denia, send an email to email@example.com
