hsos4me - the video competition for international students
Topic: Feel-good places at HS Osnabrück
Where do you feel comfortable at HSOS - during leisure activities, at your favorite places, with friends, while studying, during breaks?
Show us your own way of enjoying yourself in Osnabrück.
We would like to award prizes and publish the most creative, exciting and innovative contributions as part of a video competition.
To take part is well worth it: the three most creative videos will be rewarded with 500 euros each!
By participating in the video competition, you agree to the publication on the website and the social media channels of the university.
The closing date for entries is 30.04.2024, 24:00.

What you need to know
Who can participate?
- All students enrolled at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences who have come to Germany from abroad for the purpose of studying.
- Submission is possible for individuals or teams (maximum 3 students per video). Each student or team can only submit ONE video.
- A team of international and German students is possible.
The following applies: In a team of 3 people, 2 of them should be international students.
How can I participate?
- Your video ...
- is in German or English
- is no longer than 90 seconds
- is your own, original and unpublished work
- uses only images and music that are free to use
- is shot in landscape format
- Create your video
- Upload the video to your Netcase folder, tag it #hsos4me and share it with the username hsos4me.video@hs-osnabrueck.
Enter all other relevant information in the online form.
If you include other individuals in your video, you must obtain their written consent. Please use the consent declaration form for this purpose.

To inspire young people from abroad to study at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, showcase yourself in a video. Keep it personal and share your story.
The best submitted video files or parts of them will be published for news, information, and advertising purposes.
By submitting a video, you agree that the organizing institutions have the right to permanently publish, distribute and use the video file you submitted or parts of it. You agree that the Organizing Institutions may use your name and video for news, information, and promotional purposes without further compensation, notification, review, or approval. You agree to make the video file available to the organizing committee, e.g., for re-use in a "best of" or short version of the competition.
Selection criteria
The following criteria will be used to judge the videos:
- Inspiration (does your video inspire others to study at the college and beyond? Is the video a call to action?)
- Originality (does your video have a unique and original message?)
- Creativity (is your video creative in design, format and content?)
- Relevance (does your video address the theme of the competition?)
Jury
The winners will be selected by a jury made up of members of the organizing partner institutions. The jury's decisions are binding and final. Detailed results will not be communicated to the participants.
How many videos will win?
Up to three (3) submitted videos will be selected as finalists by the jury. The finalists will be awarded on 14.06.2024. A number of runners-up will also be selected. The number of runners-up will depend on the total number of submissions.
How will the winners be contacted?
Winners will be contacted by the organizing committee in early June at the email address provided via the entry form. If we do not receive a response from one of the winners within a week, the prize will be awarded to the next entry on the ranking list.
Here is a small checklist to help you increase your chances of winning:
- Pay attention to the topic.
- Be clear and concise in your message.
- Get to the point quickly because you only have 90 seconds.
- Make sure the sound and picture quality is good so we can see and hear everything.
- Stick to the maximum length of 90 seconds.
- Remember that your video must be in English or German
- Try to make your video visually attractive
- Don't read from a script in a monotone voice
- Do not violate copyright law
- Otherwise we are not allowed to use your video.
