Admission requirements

1. Degree in agricultural science, nutritional science / home economics, landscape planning, landscape development, geography, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, applied biosciences or another related field of study

2. English language proficiency (min. level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR))

Program profile

This Master's program is designed to develop globally minded problem solvers who can analyze complex questions in fast changing situations and make responsible decisions to shape sustainable landscapes for tomorrow. 

Focus of study

With our flexible curriculum, students chart their own course through the following topic areas and their intersections: 

- Agriculture & Nutrition Security
- Materials & Resource Management
- Land Use Planning & Spatial Design
- Sustainable Transformation 

Project-based learning: Working together across disciplines, students gain hands-on experience solving real world problems in three large-scale group projects. The Transdisciplinary Projects comprise 50% of the credit points in the first three semesters.
Optional semester abroad

Students can spend their third semester studying or completing an independent project abroad.

The official study regulations for Land Use Transformation will be published in the official gazette of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences shortly before they go into effect in March 2026, pending successful accreditation. English translations will also be made available for informational purposes.
