Student councils, student representatives, and committees—your voice counts!

Would you like to represent the interests of students and actively participate in shaping university life? Then get involved in a student council, the General Students’ Committee (AStA), or other university committees!

The student councils represent the interests of students in a particular department, organize events, and provide support with questions about studying. The AStA represents the student body university-wide and is involved in areas such as culture and university policy.

You can also have a say in other university committees, such as the Academic Senate or faculty councils, when it comes to important decisions about studying, teaching, and campus life. Here you have the opportunity to directly influence developments at the university and gain valuable insights into decision-making processes.

Terrassenfest

The Terrassenfest is the largest student-organized festival in northern Germany. By helping to organize it, students can gain new experience in event management and help shape the annual festival on the Westerberg campus.

Ignition Racing Team electric (IRTe)

The IRTe is a student association that has been participating in Formula Student events every year since 2006. Since 2011, the team has been focusing on building electric racing cars and has also been working on autonomous vehicles since 2017.

RISE at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences supports you as you work toward launching a startup and developing your ideas.

At Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, you have numerous opportunities to try out your ideas and get started while you are still studying. The StartUp!Lab RISE ( ) (Room for Innovation and Student Empowerment) is your point of contact for innovation, founding, and startups. Here you can get support for the development of ideas, concepts, and prototypes even in the pre-founding phase.

Transfer and Innovation Management (TIM) also offers you many support options in the area of start-ups and entrepreneurship.

Several successful start-up ideas have already been developed at the university. Thanks to the proximity to many partner companies and the lively start-up scene, you will find the perfect conditions for putting your ideas into practice outside of your everyday studies.
