Promotion of International Talents (FIT) in Osnabrück

We make you fit for your studies and the job market

As an international student, many things are new and different for you. That's why we want to support you wherever you might need help. Here you will find offers to support you at the beginning, throughout, and after your studies, as well as with your transition into the job market. You can learn about companies, practice job interviews, and network with other students and professionals.

These offers are all part of the German Academic Exchange Service's (DAAD) program for the promotion of international talents in academia and the job market (FIT). Through the FIT program, the DAAD supports German universities in preparing international students for the demands of studying and working in Germany with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. All universities in the FIT project therefore want to

  1. make it easier for prospective international students to study at a German university,
  2. increase the academic success of international students
  3. promote the employability of international students and international graduates and prepare them for the German job market, and
  4. expand and maintain a network and transition structures between universities and the business world.

You can find more information on the DAAD website.

Offers for freshmen and new students

The MentHOS-International mentoring program is designed for international students who are in the early stages of their studies.

Experienced students will support you as mentors, helping you with advice and practical tips in your first year.
Your mentor will, for example, help you find your way around campus and organize your studies. They will answer your questions, show you important locations, and provide helpful tips for everyday student life. This support will help you settle in quickly and make it easier to start your studies.

You can find more information at MentHOS-International.

The Tutorial Program supports international students from all faculties in successfully completing challenging modules.

You will work with your tutors in small groups of 3 to 5 people on an equal footing. Together, you will review and expand upon lecture content, solve exercises, and prepare for exams. Your tutors will receive special training to prepare them for their role. In this training, they will acquire didactic methods and intercultural skills to provide you with the best possible support.
