Are you a PhD student, Post-Doc or academic staff member in Osnabrück and looking for other reseachers to exchange ideas and experiences with?
Osnabrück University and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences invite you to join our social events! We meet in changing locations in Osnabrück and offer a variety of leisure activites. Here you can chat with other doctoral candidates in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange ideas about your research and common interests. In addition to international researchers, there are usually also some German PhD student joining our activities.

Upcoming events
We want to end the winter with a cozy fire and roast e.g. stick bread, marshmallows or apples over the fire. You are welcome to bring something (warm) to drink. The meeting point is at 7 pm in the outdoor area of “Schmied im Hone”: Oldenburger Landstr. 62. When you enter the courtyard, turn right and walk up the stairs (next to the street). You will then find us behind the building. Please also see the aerial photograph below.
Prior registration is not required. We look forward to seeing you!
We meet at 7 PM at the pub "Bottled” in Osnabrück. Address: Osterberger Reihe 10, 49074 Osnabrück.
You don't need to sign up in advance - just drop by! You will recognize us by the "Researcher's Roundtable" sign on the table.
Invitation to the Researcher's Reception
Prof. Dr. Andrea Lenschow, Vice President for International Affairs, Diversity, and Academic Qualifications at the University of Osnabrück, cordially invites our researchers to an official reception.
With this new event format, the university management would like to express its special appreciation to researchers in Osnabrück for their contribution to research. In addition to interesting short presentations, the event offers plenty of opportunity for networking and exchange. Over drinks and snacks, you will have the opportunity to engage in conversation and make new contacts in a pleasant atmosphere.
We would be delighted if you could attend!

Not only newcomers are invited to this first reception, but also those researchers who have been living and conducting research in Osnabrück for some time. Partners and children are of course also very welcome.
To help us plan the event, please register by April 23, 2026, by emailing christine.wolterink@verw.uni-osnabrueck.de with the number of people attending. You will receive more detailed information about the venue after you register.
We hope to see you at our first Researcher's Reception and look forward to a wonderful evening!
We meet at 7 pm to go on the Maiwoche festival together and drink “Maibowle”. Meeting point is left to the main entrance of the dome. The Maiwoche is a large city festival with lots of open-air music, food and drinks. It takes place in Osnabrück every year in May and is known as one of the largest city festivals in north-west Germany.
You do not need to register in advance - just drop by! If you haven't joint uns before, you will recognize us by the "Research's Roundtable" sign!
General Information
- Participation is free if charge, but everyone pays for his/her own drinks/tickets etc.
- You are welcome to bring your spouse and children to our events, too.
- Our events may be subject to change. To stay up-to-date with our activities, please visit our website on a regular basis or sign up for our newsletter. Our researchers also have a WhatsApp group that you are welcom to join.
- Participants of the Researcher's Roundtable activites are not insured by Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences or the University of Osnabrück. We do not assume any liability in case of an accident in connection with the participation in our events.
