Are you a PhD student, Post-Doc or academice staff member in Osnabrück and looking for other reseachers to exchange ideas and experiences with? Osnabrück University and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences invite you to join our social events!
We meet in changing locations in Osnabrück and offer additional social events from time to time.
Researcher's Roundtable is an initiative of Osnabrück University and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück. Researchers from the Osnabrück University are welcome to follow the link to this website.
Upcoming events
We meet at 7 PM for bowling (in German: Kegeln) at the restaurant "Sportlertreff" of the the sports club OSC. Adress: Hiärm-Grupe-Str. 8, 49080 Osnabrück. Participation is free of charge. As it is not allowed to step on the bowling alley with street shoes, please bring indoor shoes (clean sneakers).
You don't need to sign up in advance. Just drop by!
We invite you to spend your lunch break together with other scientists today! You will find us in the Mensa Westerberg between 12.00 and 1.30 pm at one of the high tables along the window front in the right part of the Mensa (facing towards the green building, the "Frosch").
Look out for the "Researcher's Roundtable" display on the table. We look forward to a nice lunch together!
Do you dare to skate on ice? We would like to try it (again) and are looking forward to a sporty evening with "Disco on Ice".
We meet at 6 pm at the Eissportcenter Osnabrück (address: Vehrter Landstraße 4-6, 49088 Osnabrück). A ticket costs 6 € (students and children) or 7.50 € (adults). Skates can be hired on site for 4 €. Please bring warm clothing (especially gloves).
The ice sports center is easy to reach by bus (bus stop: Nettebad; the Einsportcenter is located on the opposite side of the street).
Ice skating is also great fun for children! We would therefore like to expressly address researchers with children and would be delighted if you bring your family along!
We meet at 7 pm in the Lagerhalle (address: Rolandsmauer 26, 49074 Osnabrück). You will recognize us by the "Researcher's Roundtable" display on the table.
Prior registration is not required. We look forward to seeing you!
We begin the eventing at the pub Kinokneipe 8 1/2 (address: Hasestraße 71, 49074 Osnabrück). We will then go to the nearby Hasetor cinema and watch an English movie (or a German movie with English subtitles). The movie will be announced here.
We are looking forward to a nice movie night with you!
Of course we don't want to miss out the Maiwoche, Osnabrück's biggest folk festival!
We meet at 7 pm at the town hall steps (address: Markt 30, 49074 Osnabrück).

After the great success of our barbecue event last year with around 25 participants, we would of course like to invite you to join us again this year. We will meet at the barbecue site at Rubbenbruchsee at 6 pm. Children are of course also very welcome!
We will provide barbecues and coal. Please bring your own plates, cutlery, cups, drinks and barbecue food. We would be delighted if everyone could also make a small contribution to the buffet.

We take the bus to Lake Dümmer to go for a bike ride or a walk. Afterwards we enjoy a drink in the beach bar "Bar dü Mar" on the shore of Lake Dümmer.

Participation at our events is free of charge (if not indicated otherwise) and we look forwarding to meeting you! You are welcome to bring your spouse and your kids to our events, too. Local PhD students and academic staff members are of course also more than welcome to join us as well.
