Are you a PhD student, Post-Doc or academic staff member in Osnabrück and looking for other reseachers to exchange ideas and experiences with?
Osnabrück University and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences invite you to join our social events! We meet in changing locations in Osnabrück and offer a variety of leisure activites. Here you can chat with other doctoral candidates in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange ideas about your research and common interests. In addition to international researchers, there are usually also some German PhD student joining our activities.

Let's enjoy summer with a cool drink at the beach bar Hasebeach!
The entrance is in the Koksche Straße and we will be there from 7 pm on.
Just drop by - prior registration is not necessary. You will recognize us by the “Researcher's Roundtable” sign.
Have you been to the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument in Porta Westfalica yet? It is considered one of Germany’s most important national monuments and offers a spectacular panoramic view.
We would like to take the train together to Porta Westfalica on August 22, hike to the monument, and enjoy a picnic there. We would be delighted if you would like to join us! At the site, we will also meet a group of international researchers from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. Feel free to bring your own picnic and remember to wear weather-appropriate clothing and suitable (hiking) shoes if needed. The excursion will take place from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m.
The Deutschlandticket/Semesterticket is valid on the trains we will be taking. Therefore, please remember to bring your semester ticket or Deutschlandticket if you have one. Otherwise, please purchase a regular ticket in advance.
Important note: For this event, we kindly ask you to register in advance by email at researchers-roundtable@hs-osnabrueck.de by August 19, 2026. We will then provide you with the exact meeting point and departure time.

We invite you to join us at the “Festival of Cultures”! At this annual event in Osnabrück, international cultural associations showcase their work, and you’ll find a wide variety of delicacies from around the world sold at stalls decorated in traditional styles.
Starting at 1:00 PM you'll find us at one of the tables on the square in front of the City Hall—look for the “Researcher’s Roundtable” sign on the table! No prior registration is required.
General Information
- Participation is free if charge, but everyone pays for his/her own drinks/tickets etc.
- You are welcome to bring your spouse and children to our events, too.
- Our events may be subject to change. To stay up-to-date with our activities, please visit our website on a regular basis or sign up for our newsletter. Our researchers also have a WhatsApp group that you are welcom to join.
- Participants of the Researcher's Roundtable activites are not insured by Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences or the University of Osnabrück. We do not assume any liability in case of an accident in connection with the participation in our events.
- Please note that we may be taking photographs during the events that will be published on this website the section "Hightlights of our past events" without indication of names. Should you wish to be excluded from these photos, please just let us know.
