Mission Statement

To be able to exercise organisational communication as a management function that supports leadership, a fundamental theory-based understanding of corporate management is required. Both profit and non-profit organisations that are managed according to the principles of effectiveness and efficiency are considered.In the lecture, an overview is given of basic concepts of corporate management and selected management theories, of the basics of normative and strategic corporate management as well as of organisation.

Content

Theories of entrepreneurship: theory of the firm, institutional economics, value-based management, 4th generation St. Gallen model.Leadership models, leadership concepts (e.g. digital leadership) and leadership styles

Normative corporate governance: Ethics of corporate governance, purposes and goals,

Corporate constitution and corporate governance, compliance management

Strategic corporate governance:Concept of strategy, concepts (RBV MBV), environmental and business analysis, strategic decisions and planning, challenges of different (digital) business models, Knowledge and innovation-oriented corporate governance

Organisation:Hierarchies and processes Management of (digital) networks Project management

Communication-centred corporate governance
