- Brief description
The Inner Development module is an interdisciplinary course for Bachelor's students that focuses on personal and professional development. IDGs (Inner Development Goals) are a concept that aims to set and achieve individual and personal goals in order to promote personal growth and development. IDGs are designed to help people make more conscious decisions, take personal responsibility and lead more fulfilling lives. Key topics such as self-awareness, goal setting, motivation, stress management, communication, teamwork, time management, critical thinking, leadership skills, decision-making, conflict resolution and resilience are covered in a compact form. The module aims to equip students with the skills to effectively master both personal and professional challenges through a mix of lectures, group work, workshops and practical exercises. Particular emphasis is placed on active student participation and reflection on their own learning process.

- Knowledge Broadening
Students gain an understanding of concepts and theories of Inner Development Goals for promoting personal growth and development. Unlike the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which target global challenges, IDGs focus on personal goals and the individual development process. These goals can be in various areas of life, such as personal development, professional growth, interpersonal relationships, or health and well-being. They learn basic principles of effective communication and teamwork, as well as time management and goal-setting techniques.
- Knowledge deepening
Students deepen their knowledge in specific areas such as leadership skills, conflict resolution and decision-making. They engage intensively with advanced techniques and approaches to personal and professional development.
- Knowledge Understanding
This field emphasises understanding and critical reflection on the concepts learned. Students should be able to analyse theoretical approaches to self-development and interpersonal relationships and evaluate their relevance to their personal and professional lives.
- Application and Transfer
Students apply the skills they have learned in practical exercises and transfer their knowledge to real-life scenarios. They practise how to deal effectively with stress, resolve conflicts, and how to communicate and cooperate in team settings.
- Academic Innovation
Within this area of expertise, students develop the ability to creatively adapt and further develop personal development techniques. They are encouraged to develop innovative approaches to managing challenges in their personal and professional lives.
- Communication and Cooperation
Students improve their communication skills and learn to interact effectively and empathetically in various social and professional contexts. They practise working in teams and taking on leadership and facilitation roles in groups.
- Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism
In this field, students reflect on the ethical and social aspects of their personal and professional decisions. They develop an awareness of the responsibility that comes with applying self-management techniques and leadership skills, and critically examine their role in society and in the professional environment.
