Brief description

In addition to the development of ideas and plans, the concrete implementation of projects is an important task for landscape architecture. How the concrete implementation can succeed and be designed is discussed in depth in the module. The focus will be on the area of application and the effectiveness of various formal and informal procedures and instruments for the implementation of projects. Special attention is paid to the interaction of the individual procedures and instruments in complex projects.

Teaching and learning outcomes

Possibilities and limits of different procedures and instruments and their interaction:

- Formal planning procedures and instruments (e.g. land use planing,  approval procedures).

- informal planning procedures and instruments (e.g. integrated development concepts, .... )

- fiscal instruments (e.g. use of and application for subsidies, fiscal instruments)

- land management (e.g. acquisition and sale of land, leasing)

- Other regulations under private law

Overall workload

The total workload for the module is 150 hours (see also "ECTS credit points and grading").

Knowledge of formal and informal planning tools.

Knowledge Broadening

Students have a broad and integrated knowledge of procedures and instruments for the implementation of landscape architecture projects.

Knowledge deepening

Students have an in-depth knowledge of the interplay and meaningful combination of different procedures and instruments.

Knowledge Understanding

Students can identify the necessary procedures and the use of different instruments for the implementation of concrete projects.

Application and Transfer

The students can use the acquired knowledge to independently design implementation processes.

Academic Innovation

Students will be able to critically question the existing set of instruments for implementing projects and their effects and develop and discuss new procedures and instruments.

Communication and Cooperation

Students can communicate necessary steps for the implementation of projects in the form of a presentation to political decision-makers and developers.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

Students can reflect and classify their role and influence in the implementation of projects.

Literature
