Brief description

The aim of the module is to enable participants to assess developments in the economic environment and to prepare measures in the decision-making area of managers in a targeted and strategically sensible manner. For this reason, specific corporate planning is carried out in this module, with which the effects of changing framework conditions and entrepreneurial decisions are anticipated and transferred into a numerically based forecast. As a “dispositive factor”, the personal ability to do this has a decisive influence on the company's success and the sustainability of its business activities.

The oral examination includes a ten-minute media presentation of the results.

Recommended prior knowledge

Basic business management knowledge, knowledge of controlling and marketing, knowledge of market and operational structures in the construction industry

Knowledge Broadening

Students who have successfully completed this module are familiar with the requirements for planned corporate management in accordance with the internal objectives and external expectations of banks and investors. They know the possibilities and forms of business start-ups and business development planning.

Knowledge deepening

Students have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the holistic development of strategic approaches to corporate planning. In particular, they know the connections between the sub-areas of profit, investment and financial planning.

Knowledge Understanding

Students will be able to design an entrepreneurial planning process from problem definition, formulation of objectives, collection of information, development, elaboration and selection of planning alternatives to the estimation and forecasting of financial effects.

Application and Transfer

Students who have successfully completed this module are able to creatively combine considerations from different contexts (technical and business management) in the sense of entrepreneurial objectives and apply typical business planning methods.

Academic Innovation

Students are able to derive feasible business plans based on very individual starting situations and framework conditions.

Communication and Cooperation

Students are able to present and explain concepts and business plans to a critical, expert panel.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

Students can translate their own and external requirements into practical business plans based on their knowledge of entrepreneurially relevant aspects.
