Brief description

Landscape architecture is the design of the environment. In this module, the first steps of design practice are rehearsed using a specific planning task. Recognising the planning task, analysing the basic principles, merging them into an initial conceptual statement and implementing the concept idea in the preliminary design and its presentation as the core of the creative design process form the focus of the module. In addition to design and functional requirements, initial aspects of climate adaptation, biodiversity and/or rainwater management are also taken into account. The content is based on the necessary planning steps in accordance with service phase 2 of the HOAI. (UNIT A)
The presentation of the design as a mediating element is of great importance. In the second part of the module, students learn different presentation techniques to present their ideas efficiently and convincingly. Various methods of design presentation, from layout and 2D drawings to digital 3D tools, are taught. (UNIT B)
The feedback into the design process of the concrete planning example and the interlinking of the contents of both units are desired.
