Special features of the module

The modul inculdes lectures and industrial presentations.

Brief description

Technology in plant production is focussed on machines, implements and processes in farming. Based on a physical / technical backround the requirements on the technology level are described as a function in conjunction with the biological production system in farming.

Teaching and learning outcomes

  1. Relevance of the technical requirements,
  2. Assessment of the technology level,
  3. Tractor technology,
  4. Technology in plant production; 4.1. Soil implements, 4.2. Fertilisation, 4.3. Plant protection 4.4. Harvest,
  5. Special crops technology

Overall workload

The total workload for the module is 150 hours (see also "ECTS credit points and grading").

Recommended prior knowledge

The modul "Grundlagen der Landtechnik" is very much recommend. Futhermore interrest into natural science and technical systems of mechanisation is preferred.

Knowledge Broadening

Students who successful completed the modul have a wide range of knowledge regarding the technology needed for plant production. They understand the technical complexity of the processes required and are able to apply.

Knowledge deepening

Students are capable to assess the technical environment in plant production

Application and Transfer

Students are able to assess the technical requirements in plant production and thus select the appropriate machines.

Academic Innovation

Students understand the technoloy, are able to evaluate and to apply it.

Communication and Cooperation

Students are capable to explain the technology in a written or oral presentation, and are able to discuss subjects to a third party.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

Teached content trains the students to experts in a farming enviroment.
