This module explores the Information Systems and Technologies available for capturing, managing, storing and presenting information.
- Content
This module introduces information systems and technologies and the basic concepts of their effective management. Contents include Business Intelligence systems, Content Management Systems, Document Management Systems as well as Information Storage Technologies and Plans.
- Learning Outcomes
Knowledge Broadening
Students who successfully complete this module understand the concept of information management including classification, characteristics, and significance. They are familiar with systems and technologies available to capture and manage information.
Knowledge Deepening
Students who successfully complete this module are familiar with the major trends in MIS and related infrastructures (such as Clouds, Big Data, ERPs, outsourcing), and how these evolutions will affect workplaces and business strategies.
Instrumental Skills and Competences
Students who successfully complete this module can evaluate and use different systems such as Business Intelligence Systems, Content Management Systems and Document Management Systems.
