Mission Statement

This module introduces students to the basic concepts and the methods of statistics. A computer software (MATLAB) is used to enhance learning and to enable students to analyse data. Topics include descriptive statistics, basic concepts of probability, sampling distribution, hypothesis testing, variance and regression analysis.

Content

Chapter 1 probability of random events and random events Chapter 2 random variables and its distribution of the concept of random variable   Chapter 3 multidimensional random variables and their distribution Chapter 4 digital characteristics and the limit theoremChapter 5 the basic knowledge of mathematical statistics Chapter 6 estimated parameters Chapter 7 hypothesis testing  Chapter 8 variance analysis and regression analysis Chapter 9 Application of MATLAB software
