Content

-Interaction of medical products in the human body.-Local and systemic toxicity, incompatibility, allergic reaction, sensitisation of medical and dental technical products.-Biocompatibility test processes for dental/medical products.-Interaction between alloplastic materials and living human cells/tissue-medical approval procedure for clinical use-chemical and electrochemical test processes-functional process of modifying surfaces-physical and chemical parameter for description of biocompatible construction materials-influence of material surface and chemical composition to the human tissue

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge Broadening
The participants who sucessfully finished this module have a detailed competence and knowledge about reaction/interaction in the human body between medical and dental-technical construction materials and products.
They have the ability to analyse and interpretate processes and results.
Knowledge Deepening
The participants who sucessfully finished this module have a detailed competence and knowledge about incompatibility reaction of dental materials in the oral cavity.
They interpretate and illustrate results from biocompatibility analysis for medical and non-medical manpower.
Instrumental Skills and Competences
The students obtain the ability for critical analysing and interpretation of different biocompatibility methods.
This module is a preparation for project management tasks in the medical and dental industry.
Communicative Skills and Competences
The participants should be able to communicate in english language with engineers and scientists of any kind and also with business administrators within technical projects.
Another important aspect is the ability to present infront of a critical audience.
Systemic Skills and Competences
In addition to all above mentioned skills the students will learn to act with a sensitivity towards costs.
In order to cope stress situations the students can use elements of mindfullness.
