Brief description

For the design of components, the consideration of the production method is an essential key. Change useability and the introduction of design knowledge into the CAD model are other aspects. To the same extent, this also applies to assemblies in which the components adapt associatively to each other. For optimised design, production or use of thin-walled constructions, the product characteristics must be taken into account according to their thin-walled character. Surface models form a basis for describing suitable CAD models of thin-walled constructions.

Exam duration and scope

As part of the homework assignment, 1-2 designs are to be carried out.

Knowledge Broadening

The students master both volume-oriented and face-oriented modeling of components in CAD.

Knowledge deepening

The students who have successfully studied this module identify approaches to the methodology of modeling and implement them independently, taking into account special requirements such as quality of modeling or possibilities of production.

Knowledge Understanding

The students know methods to create the models qualitatively and quantitatively in order to make changes as easily as possible after an evaluation.

Application and Transfer

The students create complex assemblies and components and organize possibilities for modifications with minimal effort.

Communication and Cooperation

The students develop solutions for scientific tasks in groups and present the results with the help of meaningful documents.
