Brief description

Mechanical Processes are to be found all over in the fields of energy, environmental protection and process engineering. The key goal is to get to know the most important mechanical unit operations and their corresponding equipment. Specific examples for the empirical and analytical design, respectively are shown. The theoretical input is given in the lecture part, accompanied by calculation examples. Three typical mechanical processes are performed analized as laboratory experiments.

According to directive of studies

Knowledge Broadening

Students who have successfully completed this module will have mastered the fundamentals of the most important basic operations in mechanical processes. They will be familiar with how the most common types of equipment work. They will also have mastered the procedures for analytical and empirical calculation of these processes and will be able to carry out laboratory tests.

Knowledge deepening

Students enhance the required fundamentals.

Knowledge Understanding

Students are familiar with the essential procedures and their fundamentals.

Application and Transfer

The students are capable of choosing the optimum mechanical processes in order to solve the given problem.
