- Brief description
Environmental and planning law is an important framework condition for the implementation of projects in the field of landscaping. In this module, the central knowledge of environmental and planning law is taught and in-depth questions of environmental and planning law are dealt with using case studies. In particular, the interaction of environmental and planning law is elaborated and the independent work with different legal sources as well as the interpretation of laws with the help of commentaries and judgements is learned.

- Structure and principles of overall spatial planning (especially regional planning, urban land use planning)
- Approval procedures (especially building permit procedures, plan approval procedures and plan approvals)
- Basic principles and central legal sources of environmental law
- The interaction of planning and environmental law in planning and approval procedures
- Environmental law requirements in planning and approval procedures (including immission protection, nature and species protection, impact regulation, water and soil protection, etc.)
- Specialised legal requirements in planning and approval procedures (e.g. road and path law, monument law, neighbouring rights).
- Working with various legal sources, judgements and commentaries

Students can analyse existing regulations of environmental and planning law for concrete planning projects and develop necessary planning steps and measures for the implementation of projects.

Students can independently familiarise themselves with legal regulations and recognise their significance for their own practice.
