Brief description

Basic knowledge of the properties of various organic fertilisers used in agriculture is a prerequisite for the efficient and environmentally friendly use of these products in plant production. This course provides students with an overview of the different types of organic fertilisers and of recycled organic residues from other sectors that are available for agricultural use. Participants acquire in-depth knowledge of the evaluation of organic fertilisers, which enables optimised application strategies in crop production. Furthermore, different techniques for the storage and application of organic fertilisers will be discussed and the environmental impact of the use of organic fertilisers (including ammonia emissions) will be addressed.
