Brief description

IDGs (Inner Development Goals) are a concept that aims to set and achieve individual and personal goals in order to promote personal growth and development. IDGs are designed to help people make more conscious decisions, take personal responsibility and lead more fulfilling lives. The master's module ‘Inner Development Goals’ is aimed at supporting students in their personal and professional development. 

Successful completion of the module should not only help students to better understand and manage themselves, but also strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills. The aim is to enable them to tackle both personal and professional challenges with greater confidence and effectiveness.

Teaching and learning outcomes

Combination of theoretical input and interactive seminar elements.
Moderated discussions to encourage student engagement and participation. Reflection exercises to stimulate self-awareness and interest in personal development.

An essential element of the module is the continuous journaling of one's own actions and self-reflection.

Knowledge Broadening

Students acquire comprehensive knowledge of theoretical concepts and models of personal development, including self-awareness, motivation and resilience. They learn methods for effective goal setting and time management.

Knowledge Understanding

Students understand the importance of emotional and social intelligence in professional and personal contexts. They recognise how internal and external factors influence individual behaviour and performance.

Application and Transfer

Students apply the concepts and techniques they have learned to promote their own personal development. They implement strategies for effective stress management and conflict resolution in practical situations.

Academic Innovation

Students develop innovative approaches to self-improvement and managing interpersonal relationships in the workplace. They carry out self-directed projects aimed at improving specific personal or professional skills.

Communication and Cooperation

Students improve their communication and teamwork skills through practical exercises and group projects. They learn to communicate effectively and work in different team constellations.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

Students reflect on their learning and development processes and recognise the importance of continuous personal development. They critically evaluate the impact of their decisions and actions on their personal and professional environment.
