Brief description

This module deals with the transfer of scientific knowledge and methods into practice. Within the framework of case studies or applied research projects, independent scientific work is conducted in order to facilitate the entry into professional life.

Teaching and learning outcomes

  1. Independent processing of a practical project as individual work or as a subtask within a working group
  2. Creation of a project report on a scientific basis

Students are able to familiarize themselves with a new practice-related task within a limited period of time and to independently deepen their knowledge in a specific area on a scientific basis.

Students who have successfully completed this module know how to work on a technical and/or scientific task in a methodically structured manner within a given time frame and can place the results in an application-related context.

Application and Transfer

Students can apply the knowledge acquired in the Master's degree program in Applied Materials Science to specific practical examples.

Students can evaluate specialist literature based on their task and develop ideas for dealing with new issues.

Students analyze and evaluate solutions critically and present them in an overall context.
