Brief description

The bioprocess engineering module builds on the fundamentals of cell biology and biochemistry and examines the implementation of enzymatic and microbial processes on an industrial scale. The definition of kinetics and the establishment of balances enable the fundamental process models of biotechnology to be described mathematically. This allows statements to be made about the course of product formation.
The main key teaching content also includes the design and layout of bioreactors through the description of the flow pattern and the transport of matter and heat within them.

The content learned is reinforced using many examples from industrial practice and practised in laboratory exercisees.
