Brief description

The "Experimental Electrical Engineering" module offers students a practice-oriented approach to electrical engineering through the presentation and implementation of various experiments in the university's electrical engineering laboratories. The practical work in the laboratories gives students a hands-on insight into electrical engineering and allows them to apply the concepts they have learned directly.

The module includes small experiments that allow students to explore fundamental concepts independently. This not only promotes their technical skills, but also their problem-solving skills and teamwork.

In addition, excursions to regional industrial companies are designed to give students an insight into the work of engineers.

Teaching and learning outcomes

  • Presentation of the electrical engineering topics
  • Presentation of the curriculum
  • Connection of the curriculum with the topics of electrical engineering
  • Presentation of the electrical engineering laboratories at the university
  • Carrying out experiments in the individual laboratories
  • Depending on the offer: Excursions to regional companies

Overall workload

The total workload for the module is 150 hours (see also "ECTS credit points and grading").

Knowledge Broadening

Students who have taken the module "Experimental Electrical Engineering" expand their knowledge and skills through a practical approach to electrical engineering. They receive an introduction to the topics of electrical engineering as well as an introduction to the curriculum, which is closely linked to the practical aspects of electrical engineering. The presentation of the electrical engineering laboratories enables students to apply theoretical concepts in practice and carry out various experiments. Excursions to regional companies (depending on what is on offer) also give them an insight into the applications of electrical engineering in industry.
