IN THE TALENT ACADEMY “SMART FACTORY & PRODUCTS”

to start as soon as possible.

The Talent Academy “Smart Factory & Products” is part of the “Career Lab Hochschule Osnabrück” (CarLa) and acts as platform for promoting higher education qualifications in the field of “smart factory” and “smart products”. By involving both regional and international partners from business, science and society, the Academy aims to create a place for the lively exchange of expertise, the transfer of knowledge, and the joint promotion of early stage researchers and development of high potentials.

The Academy promotes independent research and the acquisition of qualifications in the context of a cooperative doctorate in partnership with an institution with the right to award doctorates, to be selected by the successful candidate. The main areas of applied research are as follows:

  • APPLIED DATA SCIENCE & AI
  • DIGITALIZED VALUE CHAIN PROCESSES
  • MOBILE ROBOTS – applied simulation, AI, and autonomy
  • SUSTAINABLE PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

In addition to working on scientific projects and to develop your own qualifications further, we offer the opportunity to gain teaching experience and to take advantage of training programs for higher education didactics and interdisciplinary qualification.

Your profile:

  • The positions require the future incumbent to have completed a Master degree, or a comparable degree, in a subject relevant to one of the areas of research
  • The willingness to pursue a doctorate in one of the areas of research
  • An interest in conducting research and teaching at a university of applied sciences
  • A good command of (spoken and written) German or English

Ideally, the incumbent will also have:

  • Some experience in communicating research results or first scientific publications of any kind
  • Several years of postgraduate professional experience
  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary collaboration
  • Gender and diversity competence
  • International and/or intercultural experience

The position involves part-time employment (50%); as a qualification position in accordance with Section 2(1) of the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG), the position is for a fixed term of 3 years, de-pending on any previous periods of employment that need to be taken into account. Remuneration is in accordance with pay grade 13 of the Public Sector Collective Agreement for the Federal States (TV-L). In agreement with the supervising professor the place of work is Lingen or Osnabrück.

The university reserves the right to conduct the selection interviews online or in person in Lingen. The interviews are expected to take place in the week from November 21 – 25, 2022.
