Application requirements

1. Completed university studies in the following areas: public management or administrative management, economic sciences, commercial law, legal and social sciences with specializations in economics. Applicants from degree programs without economic specializations are encouraged to apply. 
2.a. Language skills for WS 23/24 intakes: Foreign applicants must prove that they have at least B1 level German at the time of application. Students must provide proof of level B2 German by the time lectures begin.
2.b. Language skills for WS 24/25 intakes: Applicants must demonstrate at least B2 level English at the time of application. In addition, foreign applicants must provide proof of at least level A1 German (subject to approval by the accreditation agency).

Internationality

Since 2009, the Master degree program Management in Nonprofit Organisations has hosted up to 10 students every winter semester from Africa, Latin America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and countries of the Near and Middle East as part of the DAAD Master scholarship program "Helmut Schmidt Programm". For this reason, between 30 and 50% of the students of the degree program are international.

Managers of foundations, associations, or social institutions require specific skills and know-how to reach the nonprofit aims of their organizations. The Master degree program Management in Nonprofit Organisations provides instruction in just these qualifications.

Areas of activity in nonprofit organizations, strategic personnel management in nonprofit organisations, communications management, organization and decision management for the nonprofit sector, process and project management, finance management and controlling, quality management and monitoring, law for nonprofit organisations, international law and global governance, ethics, leadership training & excursion, choice of a "special competence": Development Cooperation, Human Ressources Management, Change Management or Education Management and Planning in Municipalities.
