- Mission Statement
Emphasis is given to renewable energy sources, their efficient and sustainable use. The course is composed of lessons on engineering topics and visits of industrial sites related to the lecture topics. The module will be enriched by lessons of professionals of the companies visited. Handout and questions will be delivered before each fild trip.
International students explore German installations and technical solutions for renewable energy production and sustainable use. Students analyze different options of energy conversion and pros and cons in a context of future bioeconomy concepts. Students will learn about technological options with different environmental impact and are encouraged to elaborate options in their home countries. Based on the course topics students write a homework by drafting ways of providing energy sustainably to their companies choosen. Students use seminar discussions with experts for finalizing their homework.

Participants are able to identify techniques to increase efficiency of energy conversion processes.

Participants are able to quantify processing options by using relevant processing parameters.
Communicative Skills and Competences
By case studies students identify options for sustainable actions and process optimization. Students present their findings during seminar discussions.

Participants are able to apply standard engineering tools to characterize conversion processes.
