Germany scholarship program("Deutschlandstipendium")
Germany scholarship program ("Deutschlandstipendium")
Under the Germany Scholarships program German universities engage in fundraising to sponsor their own students. The universities are to find businesses and institutions as sponsors and the federal government matches their contributions. Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences successfully participates in the program (2016/2017: 172 scholarships).
In order to apply for the program, you must be enrolled at our university on September 1st. It is not required to be enrolled at the date of your application. Please contact the Center for International Students for more information about deadlines, etc.
In addition to academic achievement, the criteria for selecting scholarship recipients include social commitment and personal achievements, such as a student overcoming challenges or obstacles in his or her social or family background. Therefore it is advisable to be able to demonstrate some sort of social engagement or charity work. This can be inside the university, e.g. as a member of one of the self-administration committees, or outside the university (e.g. supporting a soup kitchen, a senior citizen home, an orphanage, etc.).
If you successfully apply for a Germany Scholarship, you will receive a grant of € 300,00 for twelve months. Many of our sponsors also support Germany Scholarship holders through concurrent mentoring programmes, networking events and internships. Every student can apply several years in a row.
