Students who have successfully studied this module
- have a wide and integrated knowledge and comprehension about the scope, the main fields and the limits of the subject. They also show a critical understanding of selected planning processes as well as strategies and rules in control system concepts.
- can differ various reasons for warehousing. Furthermore they can give a scientifically sound reason for the necessity of warehousing in certain phases of the value-adding process.
- can focus on the management combined with other functions in the company and its objective altogether by not giving priority to details of the operative work of internal transport or the warehousing.

Students who have successfully studied this module
- have knowledge which is very detailed in individual fields and is based on current developments
- can give recommendations for the positioning and adequate sizing of internal transport systems and/or warehouses in the supply chain
- can justify the need, sizing and equipment of the transport systems and/or the single areas of the warehouse
- can develop procedures for the integration of information systems in the material flow and/or the warehouse management taking into account the requirements of E-Logistics and E-Commerce
- can adapt the internal transport and/or warehousing strategy of the company to the changing conditions in the procurement-, production and distribution structures, by recommendations and justification of modernization measures, reorganization measures or measures of re-development.

Students who have successfully studied this module
- can deal with the relevant tools to manage and to modernize/reorganize internal transport systems and/or warehouses and their installations or to plan new transport systems, warehouses or new storage technology
- can use methods and procedures which are necessary for the implementation of the decision for a new internal transport and/or storage concept
- use a number of standard procedures and some advanced procedures and methods to process data and to present them in a structured way to gain, to process and to improve thereby the necessary data for the organization of material flow systems and storing systems.
