Admission Requirements
Approx. 650 foreign students study at Fachhochschule Osnabrueck. In order to be enrolled for a degree programme, the following admission requirements have to be met:
higher education entrance qualification after, in general, 13 years of education at secondary level (in case of fewer years at school: proof of having passed the entrance examination at the home university plus one or two years of study depending on the length of schooling) plus (for most degree programmes)
vocational pre-study placement with relevance to the chosen subject (duration of this placement varies from 6 weeks to 6 months according to the study programme)
The completed application forms together with the required enclosures have to reach Fachhochschule Osnabrueck by July 15th at the latest for the autumn semester and by January 15th for the spring semester. Application deadline for the degree programme ”International Business and Management” is April 30th.
For foreign students, direct admission to Fachhochschule Osnabrueck depends on whether the applicant‘s secondary school leaving certificate and -if applicable- university certificates are considered to be equivalent to the higher education entrance qualification in Germany. If this is not the case, the applicant has to take part in a one-year preparatory course at the ”Studienkolleg” in Hannover.
A good command of the German language, which enables the student to follow the lectures and work independently, is an admission requirement. Applicants have to submit one of the following certificates:
Zentrale Oberstufenpruefung or Zentrale Mittelstufenpruefung des Goethe Instituts
Großes or Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom des Goethe Instituts
Deutsche Sprachpruefung fuer den Hochschulzugang (DSH)
Test DaF: TDN level 4 or 5
Under certain conditions other language certificates or proof of a good command of the German language can be accepted.
Foreign students should contact the Admissions Office (”Studierendensekretariat”) for further information and application material well before the above-mentioned application deadlines.
